Hundreds of people attended the ribbon cutting of the new Helena High School on Sunday afternoon. Birmingham-based Doster Construction Company completed construction of the 250,000-square foot new facility in April and student will begin classes this Thursday, August 7. “We’re just very proud that the kids of Helena now have their own high school and our community will come together and rally around it. It’s a great day for the city of Helena,” Helena Mayor Mark Hall said. Designed by Lathan Associates Architects, the new high school features high-tech classrooms, a gymnasium, an auditorium, two storm shelters, a cafeteria, a sports complex, and a state-of-the-art media center. Doster Construction Company is proud to be known as one of the top school builders in the country. With more than 100 successful k-12 projects completed, Doster continues to be a leader in education construction. “Doster was a pleasure to work with,” said Helena High School Principal Jay Peoples.
