Within the next 30 days, Doster Construction will break ground on multiple projects, totaling over $130 million – PNJ Redevelopment in Pensacola, FL, Winter Haven Hospital ED Expansion in Winter Haven, FL, and Austin High School in Decatur, AL.

The long awaited $50 million PNJ Mixed-use Redevelopment located in Pensacola, Florida will break ground in a couple of weeks. Florida governor, Rick Scott, recently signed a an economic development ad valorem tax exemption bill that clears the way for the redevelopment at the site of the former Pensacola News Journal Headquarters. The project will include 258 residential apartments, along with retail space, restaurants, offices, and a public/private parking garage. Residential amenities within the project include a roof-top patio and event area, a swimming pool and courtyard.
Doster was the low bidder for the $50 million new Austin High School project in Decatur, Alabama. The 231,000 SF new facility will feature more than 40 classrooms, a 2,000-seat arena-style gymnasium, 500-seat auditorium, a football stadium and safe rooms to withstand 250 mph winds. The school will have two levels and be constructed on the 77½-acre site near Modaus Road and Shady Grove Lane in Southwest Decatur. The new Austin High School is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2018.
The $32 million Emergency Department expansion at Winter Haven Hospital in Winter Haven, Florida will include a new 2-story building that will connect to the existing Emergency Department. The 1st floor will house the main ED, and the 2nd floor will accommodate future growth with ICU’s and Cath Labs. The project will also include redeveloping existing ED space for a new Psych ED, a new Medical Observation Unit and a New Sterile Processing Department, Central Energy Plant upgrades, and site development and relocation of underground utilities. Doster has been active on the Winter Haven Hospital campus for nearly a decade.
