Nicholson Gateway will turn what has traditionally been the back of the LSU campus into an exciting new gateway district. The 28-acre site will transform the largest remaining underdeveloped tract of university property that is adjacent to the campus core. Vacant and under-used sites will house new campus facilities, and an improved landscape will create a sense of arrival. The development, designed by Niles Bolton Associates, is expected to be a mix of primarily student residential space, with student-centric retail. The mixed-use nature of Nicholson Gateway will create an environment designed to attract students, sports fans and the surrounding community.
Doster has been selected to serve as one of three General Contractors on the project. Doster’s scope will include three buildings that are a mix of 4 and 5 story Type-IIIA and Type-VA construction. The student housing buildings will comprise 349 units with 811 beds, retail space and a University Recreation Center.
