Construction is wrapping up on a $10 million project with the University of Alabama at Birmingham Health System to renovate the 2nd and 3rd floors of the John N. Whitaker Building in Birmingham. The 64,000 square foot renovation will convert the existing space into high end medical clinics and physician offices as part of an expansion of The Kirklin Clinic of UAB Hospital. The project also includes a connector bridge.
“The renovation of the Whitaker Building and the creation of more clinical care space will improve access to UAB Medicine services for patients across Alabama and the region,” said Reid Jones, COO of the UAB Health System. “We are looking forward to having this enhanced capability to serve patients at the Kirklin Clinic and wish to thank Doster Construction for their efforts to bring about this renovation with their usual professionalism and quality.”
Doster Construction Company is the general contractor and Gresham, Smith and Partners is the architect of record.
