Project Description
Doster delivers the Ross Bridge Renaissance Golf Resort and Spa, the first destination resort built in the Birmingham area.
The use of old-world building components coupled with the state-of-the-art technology has proven to be both distinctive and intriguing. The Retirement Systems of Alabama selected Doster as the construction manager for the project on a negotiated basis. Doster provided extensive preconstruction services and then entered into a construction management contract to build the project.
The hotel has 258 guestrooms and 11 suites, a lobby with high-end finishes including a library and massive fireplace, a restaurant and bar with indoor/outdoor seating, outdoor pool and waterfall, conference center with 20,000 square feet of meeting space, large pre-function areas, and a Starbuck’s coffee shop.
“Doster, as Construction Manager, creatively and aggressively completed this fast-track project within two years. Key to the success of Doster’s goal was your task in developing numerous scopes of work, and defining in elaborate detail, the responsibility of each bidding contractor. You coordinated not only the design package bids, but also the bidding and negotiation of hundreds of bidders for the various trades. Once the contractors were on board, the coordination of work began seamlessly.” – Goodwyn Mills & Cawood
